Addo Elephant National Park and Schotia Private Game Reserve are both malaria-free destinations, which is important for parents travelling with young children. Safaris are conducted in open or enclosed 4x4 vehicles with an expert guide, and the experience is educational as well as exciting.

 

Children are introduced to African wildlife, ecosystems and conservation in a safe, supervised environment. Families with children aged 5 and above are welcome on all standard day safaris to Addo Elephant National Park, children of all ages welcome on all standard day safaris to Schotia Game Reserve. Private tours can be arranged for families with younger children to ensure a comfortable pace.

On a ZASENDLE Adventures day safari, here is what to expect:

1. Pick-up: Your guide will collect you from your hotel, guesthouse, the Port Elizabeth airport or the cruise terminal at the scheduled time or meet us directly at Addo Park SOUTH GATE entrance or at Schotia Game Reserve Reception area.

2. Drive to the park: Your guide will brief you on the day and share information about the destination en route.

3. Safari game drive: You will spend approximately 4-6 hours in an open or enclosed 4x4 vehicle. Your guide will identify animals, explain their behavior and ensure the best possible sightings.

4. Lunch or refreshments: Check excursion if included. Local restaurants or picnic options are used where possible.

5. Additional experiences: Depending on your tour, this may include a giraffe walking encounter, sunset safari, bush dinner, or marine wildlife experience.

6. Return: You will be returned to your accommodation at the estimated time.

What to bring: Passport or an copy of your passport for entries, Comfortable clothing, sunscreen, insect repellent, camera, binoculars, and a light jacket (mornings can be cool).
